Show Iron County School Fund Levy to Remain Unchanged There will be no state property tax this year for the minimum I school fund, which means that property owners of Iron Countv will pay exactly the same levy as was assessed last year, although it had been expected that the levy would be higher this year. Last year the state assessed a 3.G mills levy for this purpose, which made the total levy in Iron County for school purposes, 22.75 mills. This year new school tax legislation made it necessary for the school district to make a 12 mill levy for the uniform school program, which brought the local school levy to the exact combined com-bined local and state levies. It had been expected that the state would make a levy again this year, which would have boosted the total levy by that much. However since no state levy was made the total lcmains the same. The local district levy for the uniform school fund last year was 5.30 mills. A reduction to 5 mills from the levy of 7 mills last year for the levy in excess of mimimum held the total lax I down to the same as that of last year. |
