Show Council Action Taken on Routine Matters Members of the Cedar City Council met in regular session l ist Thursday evening for a rather rath-er quiet but active session that dealt mostly with routine business busi-ness matters and the approval of minor items, according to Mayor A.nold Anderson. The council did approve the use of the apron at the Cedar City Airport for the Las Vegas and Salt Lake City sport car clubs who plan to meet In this city for an afternoon of sport car fun. The stipulation on the use of the airport is that any damage dam-age to the field would be the two club's responsibilities. Attorney At-torney Patrick H. Fenton will draw up an agreement to be signed prior to the use of the cily facilities. Flood Control Dam The federal government has also asked the city to cooperate in the construction of a flood control dam at the mouth of Cedar Ce-dar Canyon. The federal government govern-ment Will cover half the cost with the water shareholders to supply an additional one-half of the cost. According to Mayor Anderson An-derson the city will be required to invest approximately $300 in the project. The council authorized author-ized the mayor to sign the agreement agree-ment but the funds will not be budgeted until next year. Reports Water Study Mayor Anderson also gave a report on the efforts of the geological ge-ological survey study that is being be-ing made at Navajo Lake to try ti determine where the water from the "sinks" at the east end of the lake really goes.
