Show Cedar City Polio Fund j Chairman Sets Emergency Drive j The National Foundation for, Infantile Paralysis will stage an' emergency March of Dimes drive between Aug. 16 and 31, according accord-ing to A. E. Whatcott, Cedar City chairman. According to Whatcott contributions contri-butions in January fell $20,000,-000 $20,000,-000 short of the need for 1955-1. The funds were wiped out in paying for patients' care, the vaccine trials and gamma globulin. glob-ulin. Although Cedar City and Iron County were over their quota quo-ta in the regular drive, they have been asked to contribute in this emergency drive. Arrangements have already been made to completely canvass the town, house to house and business to business. Mrs. Warren War-ren Munford will be in charge of the house to house canvass and Mrs. Carl Hazel will conduct the drive of the business houses. This drive, Whatcott pointed out, will be conducted during the emergency period but a definite def-inite date has not yet been set. March of Dimes machinery both local and national is in danger of grinding to a halt because be-cause of lack of funds. This emergency drive has been initiated so that this worthwhile foundation can continue to fight Infantile Paralysis. |
