Show Kiwanians Meet Lions in Donkey Baseball This isn't just a donkey baseball base-ball game, this is a "spotted" donkey baseball game, and it's scheduled for Cedar City Saturday Satur-day evening at 8 on the locjl Softball field. I Morgan Slack, president of the Cedar City Softball Association 1 announced this week that the Ki-j Ki-j wanis Club and Lions Club of Ce-ular Ce-ular City would meet in the '"game of the year on donkeys," Saturday evening for the entertainment enter-tainment and enjoyment of ; young and old. I All spotted, the donkeys are ' apt to do anything, Slack indicated, indicat-ed, and what they'll do to these 'civic club members is worth the ."0 cents for adults and 25 cents for children, the admission set for the affair. i Brought into town by the Cliff Dunham Show s of Crescent, Okla. the show is set to the stage of a softball field, but might better be placed in the clown ring of a big circus. Fielders must chase jthe ball on their donkeys, throw to the base to basemen who must be astride their donkey in order to make the put-out. And the batters this part is really a scream All they have to do is hit the ball, slanding flat-footed on the ground, then jump astride an ass and head for first. Past experiences would indicate indi-cate that the runners are more apt to reach first on their heads than on their asses (those donkeys don-keys are known to buck). Money raised from the affair will be used to improve the local park. |
