Show iPlaywritinq Contest .Rules for 1954 Announced by MI A The MIA playwriting contest for 1951 has been announced by the joint drama committee of the General Boards of the Mutual Improvement Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. Competition is divided into three classes and everyone is eli- gible to participate. Purpose of the contest accord-' ing to the announcement is "to encourage the writing of original I play materials by the Church membership and to provide a body of drama suitable and challenging chal-lenging for production in the MIA program." The three classes are for full-length full-length plays, for musical productions pro-ductions and for short plays. First prizes in classes A and B is $200 plus purchase for the M I A Book of Plays and possible production pro-duction at June Conference. Second Sec-ond prize is $100 in both classes plus purchase for the MIA Book of Plays. First prize in the third class for short plays is $150 plus purchase pur-chase for M I A Book of Plays and possible production at June Conference. Second prize is $75 plus purchase for MIA Book of Plays. All scripts entered will be considered con-sidered for purchase and publi-ction publi-ction in the 1955-5G M I A Book of Plays. Complete rules of the contest are available upon request by writing to the MIA General Offices Of-fices at 40 North Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Competition closes for 1954 on Nov. 15. |
