Show CLUB AND PARTY MUTES By Mrs. Therol MacArthur The Presbyterian Women's Association As-sociation held a meeting Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at the church with Mrs. Sanford Schmitt and Mrs. Irvin Ulver as co-hostesses. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. Arnold Anderson, president, and the program consisted of a most interesting presentation by the Reverend William Burton on the Apostolic Creed. j Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones en-Itertained en-Itertained at a garden party Tuesday Tues-day evening for 75 of their relatives rela-tives and close friends. Out of town people who were honored guests at this charming affair were: Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Palmer and children of Washington, D.C; Mrs. Lucille Crockett of Arlington. Arling-ton. Va.; Mrs. Marilyn Siddowav, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Beatrice Shaw, Arlington, Vt; Mr. and Mrs. Antone Webster, San Francisco; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bailey, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jay Peterson, staying in Cedar City while 'ier husband is in Japan, and Dr. and Mrs. Rodney Brown, who have just recently moved to Cedar Ce-dar City. Mrs. Elaine Kemp, Mrs. Ida Halterman and Mrs. Jenny Math-eson Math-eson were co-hostesses to the members of their sewing club and their partners at a lawn party at the home of Mrs. Kemp. Saturday evening. Dinner was served then outdoor games were played by the following couples: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Langford, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dix. Mr. and Mrs. Van E'splin, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Willis. Exchanging whUe) elephant gifts was a hilarious part of the evening. ' The Sixth Ward Sunday School teachers and officials entertained at a lawn party at the Third Ward chapel Thursday evening, honoring the outgoing officials. Chairman of the event was Joseph Jo-seph Atkin, and serving on the committee was Cleo Sorenson, Ruth Lamb, Opal Condie and Ralph Hafen. A program, games ancj refreshments were enjoyed by almost 30 people. Mr. and Mrs. Haymer Morris entertained the members of their dinner club Sunday afternoon at the David C. Bulloch ranch on Cedar Mountain. A full course dinner was served by the pond, then the following couples spent the afternoon boating and horseback horse-back riding: Mr. and Mrs. Roger Felt, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Bawden, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hafen, Mr. and Mrs. McRay Cloward, Mr. and Mrs. Dixie Leavitt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Betenson. The Reading Club was entertained enter-tained Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Rose Anderson. Hie 16 members present were served light refreshments and Mrs. Mildred Sargent gave a review of her recent trip to Mexico with the college sponsored tour. The M B W Club met at the home of Mrs. Preston Wood Friday Fri-day afternoon. The 12 members in attendance were presented a program on "Prayer," by Mrs. Kimball Jensen. The We-Ak-Avi Club members entertained their guests at a luncheon at Cedar Breaks Lodge Thursday afternoon. Following lunch the group enjoyed a book review. "Seven Year Itch," presented pre-sented by Mrs. Cliff Ewing. Mrs. Moroni Perry was chairman for the afternoon. Mrs. Gilbert Janson was hostess host-ess to the members of the Round Table Club at her home Friday afternoon. Twain Tippetts furnished fur-nished the program for the day with a most interesting talk rrj race segregation in our schools. Special guest to the club was Mrs. Virginia Larson. I Mr. and Mrs. Corry Olson were hosts at a bridge supper at their home Saturday evening in hon-or hon-or of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Webster Web-ster of San Francisco who .lain .la-in town visiting. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sevy, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lambert. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Dobson and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Seegmiller. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith were hosts to an outdoor party at their guest ranch at North Fork Sunday afternoon and evening. Outdoor games and horseback riding was enjoyed by the guests, then a lovely dinner was served. The guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lunt. Mrs. Florence Cardon, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lambert. Lam-bert. Dr. and Mrs. John Beat. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Sevy, Dr. and Mrs. L. V. Broadbent, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Whc-tten, Dr. and Mrs. Reed Farnsworth, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Dix and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Smith. Mrs. Lillis Larson was hostess at a farewell party at her home in honor of Mrs. Mary Hasfur-ther, Hasfur-ther, who will leave soon 1o make her home in Murray, and Mrs. Ina Givan. who will soon call St. George her home. A light luncheon was served and a lovely love-ly gift was presented to both of the honored guests by the following fol-lowing friends: Mrs. Clara Atkin, Mrs. Mary Jane Rollo, Mrs. Ruby Smith, Mrs. Zelma Lunt, Mrs. Beth Halsell, Mrs. Bertha Jonesr j and Mrs. Esther Jones. |
