Show Training School Held For Judges Of County Fair Shows A training school for judges of county fair exhibits has been concluded at the College of Southern Utah under the auspices aus-pices of that school and the Utah State Agricultural College extension exten-sion service at Logan. Five similar simi-lar day-long schools will be conducted con-ducted throughout the state it is understood. Those who received training at the local school will be on hand now for judging in county fairs in Garfield, Iron, Kane, Millard Mil-lard and Washington counties. The purpose of tho schooling was to prepare volunteer workers to judge fairly and accurately fair exhibits of needlecraft, foods, wood finishing and upholstery, clothing and other related fields. A traveling crew of experts in the various fields were on hand to instruct at the school. The group included: Thelma Huber, supervisor of U S A C extension . home economics; Reah Gardner, extension housing and home management specialist; Theta Johnson, extension clothing specialist; spe-cialist; Elna Miller, extension nutritionist, nu-tritionist, and Amy Kearsley, assistant as-sistant supervisor of youth programs. |
