Show New Rest Home Open House Well Attended A very successful open house was held at the new Iron County Rest Home here last Saturday afternoon with more than 3.r)0 residents of the county visiting and touring that place during the visiting hours. Present were almost all of Iron County's official offi-cial family, with Commissioners Jess Guymon, and Warren H. Bulloch and their wives conducting conduct-ing the visitors through the new-home, new-home, along with Ancil J. Adams, caretaker. The new home which was recently re-cently completed and furnished at a cost of more than $200,000, is one of the most beautiful and best equipped homes for this purpose pur-pose ever built in the state. Each of its apartments has an outside door and one that opens into a corridor connecting with the dining din-ing and living room. Each room has a bath with tubs built es pecially for safety and convenience conven-ience and with signal lights t( summon aid when needed. A hobby room has been pro vided for the guests where tools will be provided for use of those who would like to do something to keep busy and where women can s-w or quilt or other things The kitchen, dining room, heat-things heat-things more pleasant. The kitchen, dinig room, heating heat-ing plant and in fact all service parts of the home are sufficiently sufficient-ly large to accommodate many more guests than can be housed in the rooms provided now. It was Mr. Adams' belief that the new home will be filled to capacity immediately, and he stated that some of the male residents of the home have ex-1 pressed a desire to remain in the old home. It may be made possible for them to remain in the old home with quarters arranged on the ground floor, if there are enough applicants to fill the new home. The lower floor of the old home may be divided into bedrooms to be heated from the new home. By extending a heating line to the old home it can be heated i from the new plant, and those who choose to remain there wiil go to the dining room of the new ) home for meals, and have use of the living room and recreation room, |
