Show Infant Son of Piute Family Accorded Full Tribal Rites Full tribal ceremonies were held Monday in Cedar City at the burial of the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Pete, Piute Indians of Cedar City. The child, who was born In Cedar City, April 24, of this year, died Saturday of pneumonia at the home of the parents in the Piute Indian village here. He is a grandson of Jlmmie Pete, Piute Indian Chieftain, and was accorded tribal customs, with Indians from this area attending. at-tending. A tribal sing was held Sunday Sun-day evening. Graveside services included a traditional sing and cry, followed by talks by Woots Parachant, D. L. Sargent, president presi-dent of the Cedar Stake, and William Wil-liam R. Palmer. Survivors are his parents, his grandfather and several brothers and sisters. |
