Show Indian Shooting Declared Accident by Officers The sh6oting of Fcrrcl Myers, a 16 year-old Tiute Indian, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Myers of Moapa, Nevada, was declared an accident this week by Iron County Coun-ty Sheriff, Arthur Nelson, who made the investigation. Conflicting reports had been received on the shooting which took place a week ago Tuesday near Beryl. A .22 calibre bullet from a single shot rifle entered the young Indian's chest, collapsing collap-sing the right lung and coming out of his back. He is being treated at the Iron County hospital. hos-pital. According to the sheriff, there was a fight on the Paul Martin farm where a group of the Indians In-dians are working. It is believed that the young boy and his father fath-er were fighting some other men, when the boy went for his rifle. The boy accidentally shot himself him-self while loading the rifle, according ac-cording to the sheriff. |
