Show Pheasant Season to Open on Nov. 11; No Quail Hunting to Be Allowed Here The pheasant and quail hunting hunt-ing seasons for Utah were outlined out-lined in a proclamation of the Fish and Game commission released re-leased last week. All of Iron county is open to pheasant hunting except the Cedar Ce-dar Valley Upland Bird Sanctuary, Sanctu-ary, as marked and posted on the ground. The season and hours includes: in-cludes: Nov. 11, 12 noon to 5:30 p. m.; Nov. 12, 7 a. m. to 5:30 p. m. Nov. 18, 12 noon to 5:30 p. m. and Nov. 19, 7 a. m. to 5:30 p. m. The bag limit is three and the possession limit is 6, all male sex. The season and hours is the same for the quail hunt, with a daily bag limit of eight and a possession limit of 16, either sex. However, hunting of quail is not permitted in the county of Iron this year. In Washington county, there is hunting of quail in the regular season, and additional addi-tional hunting up until Dec. 31. Bounderies of the regular season hunt in Washington county includes: in-cludes: beginning at the junction junc-tion of the Washington-Iron county line and the Nevada State line; thence easterly and southerly south-erly along said line to the line common to Washington and Kane counties; thence southerly along said line to the Arizona state line; thence west along said state line to the Virgin river; ri-ver; thence northeasterly up said river to the old Bloomington- Apex road; thence northeasterly along said road to the Indian reservation fence; thence northerly north-erly along said reservation fence to Highway No. 91; thence easterly east-erly and northerly nlonfr High way 91 to Anderson's Ranch; thence west to the Forest boundary; boun-dary; thence southwesterly, westerly, west-erly, northerly and northwesterly northwester-ly along said forest boundary to the Utah-Nevada state line; thence north alonj said line to the point of beginning. That area in Washington county coun-ty bounded by the following described de-scribed line is open to hunting until Nov. 20, with hunting hours from 7 a. m. until 5:30 p. m. Beginning at St. George, thence northeasterly along Highway 91 to Anderson's ranch; thence west to the Forest boundary; thence southwesterly, west, northerly. and southwesterly alonj said boundary to its intersection with Santa Clara creek; thence southwesterly south-westerly down said creek to the Indian Reservation; thence east and south along the reservation fence to Highway 91; thence easterly along said highway to point of beginning. Another area open until Dec. 31, with hunting hours from 7 a. m. until 5:30 p. m. is in the following described land: Beginning at intersection of Santa Clara creek and Forest boundary; thence southwesterly, westerly and northwesterly along forest line to Nevada border; thence southerly to Arizona border; bor-der; thence easterly along state line to Virgin river; thence ' northeasterly up said river to the 'old Bloomington Apex road: thence northwesterly along said I road to Indian reservation fence; thence south, west, north, east along reservation fence to Santa San-ta Clara river; thrnce north along said river to point of be-"ginning. |
