Show V Kf W ,f U City Ordinances Need Revising One of the most vital needs for proper city administration administra-tion in Cedar City at the present time, is to have the City Ordinances revised and brought up to date, and we urge the Mayor and City Council to make provision for this when they set up the budget of expenditures for 1951. It has been many years since the City Ordinances were revised and published. This, together with the fact that rapid growth in the city in recent years has necessitated many, many changes in the city statutes, makes it imperative imper-ative that a new ordinance book be compiled at the earliest ear-liest possible moment. As we look back over the new regulations that have become necessary because of the rapid growth of the city we can expect nothing but confusion in attempts at proper pro-per enforcement. To mention just a few of the many new regulations, there have been zoning laws adopted, new building codes, street changes, paving and sewer district designations, rental fees on sewer and water, and many, many others. It seems that it would be almost impossible for the enforcement en-forcement officers to know what the city ordinances really real-ly provide, and certainly the average citizen could not be expected to keep in line with all these new regulations, without exhaustive study, or upon specific instruction from the City Attorney. |
