Show i CEDAR CI7Y HIGH SCHOOL NEWS Reported by Journalism Clau Members Last Wednesday night the Cedar Ce-dar high chapters of the Future Farmers of America and the Future Fu-ture Homemakers of America held a square dance in the high school gymnasium. Vana and Ted Nelson did the calling, and the refreshments were furnished by members of the F. H. A. Larry Jones, president of the F. F. A. and Madelon lsom, president pres-ident of the F. H. A. planned the party. The intramural program has proven very successful in the Cedar high school. Many have a chance to participate, and both boys and girls are now organized, organ-ized, ready for activity. The Girls Athletic Association was formed last week. The squad leaders from each of the phvsi-cal phvsi-cal education classes elected Suzanne Su-zanne Cardon resident, and Virginia Vir-ginia Clark, vice president. Tournaments will be held in such sports as speed ball, volleyball, vol-leyball, basketball and badminton, badmin-ton, with all physical education classes participating. Robert Pace and Roden Williams Wil-liams are the Boys' Intramural managers. The classes are divided di-vided into squads with two squads from each class. The games, Including touch football, soccer, wrestling, basketball and softball will be played in the classes with the championship games at noon. Members of the Music club, both old and new, met Tuesday and elected officers for the year. Elected president was Lorraine Miller,; first vice president, Gerald Ger-ald Bradshaw; second vice president, presi-dent, Kendall Jones; secretary, Renee Jones. Meetings will be held every third Thursday. Merlyn Jones, dramatic instructor instruc-tor at the Cedar high school, announces an-nounces that four dramatic productions pro-ductions will be undertaken at the school this year. Dates for the productions have not yet been get. Two one-act plays will be given giv-en by the drama classes, including includ-ing "Little Prison" and "Submerged". "Sub-merged". The student body will produce a three-act play. "All My Sons", with parts in the play being awarded after student body try-outs. try-outs. A fourth production in which the drama department will participate par-ticipate is the opera "The Mikado". Mi-kado". Several departments of the school will co operate in producing pro-ducing the opera which will be I under the direction of Al Rich. ' vocal music instructor. |
