Show Park Construction Work Goes to St. George Builder Park Superintendent Charles J. Smith announces that bids were opened October 9 at Zion National Nation-al park .for the construction of five three bedroom houses. Low bid of $73,988 was submitted by David Woodbury of St. George. Jenning & Jennings, St. George submitted a bid of $78,848. Next low bid was that of H. J. Delaney of Cedar City in the amount of S90.900. Mr. Woodbury's bid was accepted ac-cepted by the National Park Service Ser-vice and construction is expected to be started as soon as the contract is approved in Washington. Wash-ington. This usually takes about three weeks so the job should be started shortly after November 1 and completed early in the spring. These five houses will be the first to be constructed in the pork since 1935. Greatly increased in-creased travpl and growing demands de-mands for roads, trails and accommodations ac-commodations have resulted in a considerably expanded staff at the park since 1933. |
