Show By The Governor Of The State Of Utah A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the future of our nation and all nations throughout the world is dependent upon the maintenance of peace on earth and good will toward men, and WHEREAS, the maintenance of peace and the establishment estab-lishment of better understanding among people and nations na-tions is a world-wide obligation in which everyone should participate, and WHEREAS, the United Nations was organized for the purpose of providing all worldly people with the security, se-curity, justice and lasting peace that is so necessary, and WHEREAS, October 24, 1950, marks the fifth anniversary anni-versary of the coming into force of the Charter of the United Nations, and further marks the completion of five years of notable work by the United Nations in solving many of the world'f major problems, and WHEREAS, the President of the United States has proclaimed October 24, 1950, as United Nations Day, and has called upon all public officials to cooperate in appropriate approp-riate programs, NOW, THEREFORE, I, J. BRACKEN LEE, Governor of the State of Utah, do hereby proclaim October 24, 1950, as UNITED NATIONS DAY in Utah, and do hereby urge all officials of the state government, gov-ernment, mayors, county and city commissioners, and other public officials, as well as civic, educational, and religious organizations, and individual citizens to cooperate coop-erate fully in public programs dedicated to strengthening strengthen-ing our nation and the world in the crusade for justice and peace,.
