Show i Deer Hunt Fever Takes Hold In Iron County Despite the warm weather in this area during the past week, red shirts and hats are making their appearance in force with the opening of deer hunting season sea-son Just one week off. The regular season opens on Saturday, Aug. 28, and continues through Nov. 7. In Iron county, there are two special permit hunting arens, which run concurrently con-currently with the regular season. sea-son. Of the 800 special permits offered of-fered for sale at the courthouse in Parowan, all were sold last week. The two hunting areas are Parowan, 300 permits for antler-less antler-less deer, and the Paragonah-Cottonwood, Paragonah-Cottonwood, 500 antlerless deer. With all special hunting areas reporting equally fast and heavy sales of special permits, a near record number of hunters is expected ex-pected to hit the open, come Oct. 28. I In Iron county -alone, there will be 200 out-of-state hunters with special permits, and an undetermined un-determined number with regular licenses. Out-of-state hunters grabbed up 49 special permits in the Parowan area and 151 permits per-mits in the Paragonah-Cotton-wood area. Other special hunt areas near here include: South Beaver, 500 antlerless; Kolob-Oak Valley, 300 antlerless. and East Zion, 500 antlerless. |
