Show .Ignorance in large letters - RICHFIELD When someone is so willing to invest a great amount of time and effort into their "art," why aren't they willing to stay in school long enough to learn how to spell? ; .'An illiterate vandal left his graffiti on the rest rooms at Richfield City's Rotary Park some time last week. City officer Scott Beckstead said the vandalism was reported . shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday by city parks workers. They believed the vandalism to have occurred some time between Tuesday evening ; and Thursday morning. "Hail Saton" was spray painted in three-feet high block letters on the west side of the rest rooms and was clearly visible from the freeway. Because of an upside-down crucifix painted at the end of the ; letters, the message was apparently meant as a Satanic paean. "It's kind of sick," said City Manager Woody Farnsworth about ' the graffiti. "They will have a lot harder time doing things like this in the future." Farnsworth said the city plans to have the park facilities better lighted in the near future in an attempt to prevent people from sneaking around in the dark committing these types of criminal acts. Richfield City Police Lt. John Evans said the police will offer a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in this latest act of vandalism. |
