By SCOTT WILLETTE The doors to Layton High School opened this year to the faces of eager students just waiting to crack open their biology and algebra books. Okay, maybe we all aren't that excited, ex-cited, but we're here so we might as well make the best of it. Besides, who says school is all books and studying? There are lots of things going on at Layton besides brainwracking, bonewracking for instance. in-stance. The Layton Lancer varsity football time didn't start off with a bang this year. It was more like a whimper, actually, as the rough-and-tumble Lancers are now 0-2, losing to Alta and Davis. However, preseason rarely indicates the true potential character of a team. Watch them pick up speed. Our valiant sophomores, on the other hand, are doing rather well and appear to have the making of an incredible team. Meanwhile, the Lancelles are looking as good as ever, along with our new Peppies and the new, improved im-proved rifle line-color guard. Precision Preci-sion performers can also be found at the auditions for 421 Street, this year's school musical which will feature over 100 tap dancers.
