Show Davis Dsurtboard By CIRCE KING At Davis High School, the Hello Assembly, presented by the stu-dentbody stu-dentbody officers, started off the school year last Friday. The 90-minute 90-minute presentation included dances by the cheerleaders, the D-Ettes, D-Ettes, and even one by the student-body student-body officers. Hmmm...! There were also skits by various clubs and class officers. The assembly ended with a slide show put together by Emily Timothy. In football, Davis was victorious against Layton last Friday. The outcome of that game was 14-0. It looks like the beginning of another great season for the football team. The girls' tennis team is gearing up for an exciting season, lifting weights and playing practice rounds. One team member made the comment, "I think it will be worth it. I think we're going to have a good season." Preparations are being made for Homecoming. The senior officers are making plans for the parade, which will take place the afternoon of the Homecoming game, Sept. 23, for the Homecoming assembly that morning, and for the Homecoming Home-coming Dance on Sept. 24. It has been a busy few weeks for most students as they try to make the transition between summer freedom and the responsibility of school. As they sit down to study, students reflect upon the saying of Benjamin Franklin, "Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that's the stuff life is made of." |
