Show WX Cat Quart By ROB KIME It seems like things just keep getting get-ting more, and more exciting as the year goes on. The excitement could be attributed to many things, but foremost in everyone's mind is Homecoming. The festivities will start the Monday Mon-day before the dance with different competitions, and activities for each day of the week. Friday will start with our alumni luncheon. This is an opportunity for our past, and present Wildcats to take a good look at WX, and how far it has come. It also gives us a chance to see how quickly we are progressing and why we are constantly con-stantly a step ahead of the crowd. The luncheon is held for all previous pre-vious studentbody officers and cheerleaders. It will take place on Friday, Sept. 16, at 1 1 :30 a.m. On the same day, beginning at 4, from St. Olafs and continuing down 1800 South to Woods Cross, is our annual parade. We look forward to this event very much. It gives all Wildcats Wild-cats a chance to showcase the many clubs and organizations which represent our school so hon orably. Friday night, the main event, comparable com-parable only to the dance itself", will be the Woods Cross massacre of the Viewmont Vixens. We are extremely proud of our football team. They generate gen-erate a great deal of pride and spirit and we appreciate them for their contributions con-tributions to our school. Saturday night, Sept. 17, from 8:30 to 1 1 in the WX gymnasium, will be the Homecoming dance. The theme for the dance is "Love Is By Your Side." The music will be furnished by Craig Chambers Inc. In accordance accord-ance with the Woods Cross High tradition tra-dition of excellence, this dance will be phenomenal. All members of the community are welcome to attend. In order to increase the public awareness of the many ways in which Woods Cross High is a community com-munity asset, we will periodically spotlight clubs, and organizations which make productive contributions contribu-tions to the community. The Woods Cross Key Klub is a community service ser-vice related organization. One of its main functions is raising money for charity. They do this through such programs as the Festival of Trees, or other events which they them selves organize, and carry through themselves. They also earn money for the Santa-Aid and the Rock-a-thon. This is an organization which promotes academic achievement, the arts, and a special sensitivity for the needs of others. Their motto is "Caring, our way of life." We recognize what an important part such an organization plays in a high school, and we are grateful for the support of our Key Klub. From your Wildcat peers, and the community, com-munity, we sincerely thank you. We hope you will continue your marvelous marve-lous work for the people around you, and in keeping Woods Cross a step ahead. The remarkable Woods Cross drama dra-ma department is continuing with its award winning tradition. Work has already begun on this year's musical production "Oliver." Auditions are in progress right now, and it is easy to see that with so much talent to draw on, this year's production will be no less critically acclaimed than those of the past. It is easy to see with so much talent to draw on why Woods Cross is "A step ahead." That's all for now, goodbye. |
