Show Issues examined by Council Major policy issues concerning management of land administered by the Department of the Interior's ' Bureau of Land 1 Management will be examined by the National Public Lands Advisory Council when it meets June 26 and 27 in Salt Lake City. All sessions will be open to the public. Utah Governor Scott Matheson will open the meeting with an address on his views of management of federal public lands in the West. The agenda also includes: in-cludes: BLM's request to , Congress to authorize the appropriation of funds to administer the public lands ! during fiscal years 1982-85, and BLM's associated I analysis of the priority . public land issues of the eighties; A panel discussion of the Air Force's proposed MX missle system, focusing on impact of the public lands; Public lands wilderness review policy issues; Other public lands topics including recreation policies and programs, storage of toxic and hazardous wates, . and protection of cultural and historic values. The meeting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 26, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 27, at the Howard Johnson Hotel, 122 West South Temple St., Salt Lake City. On June 26, beginning at 3:30 p.m., members of the public will have opportunity to make oral statements to the cuncil on public land management .issues. Such statements also sould be submitted in writing.
