Show Art Exhibit R eviews Past exhibitions will run through June 27, 1980. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Guided tours of the exhibitions may be scheduled by groups in , advance by telephoning the Gallery at 586-3485. The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, ! announced that an exhibition of the Cedar City Art Committee's permanent collection will open Wed-I Wed-I nesday evening, May 28, 1980, at 7 p.m. A special 8 p.m. program will feature an illustrated lecture by Thomas A. Leek, professor of art at SUSC. Prof. Leek's topic will be "A Seminal Art Collection-Amplifications." At the program's conclusion, .... light refreshments will be provided and served by members of the Cedar City Art Committee, Raymond S. Gardner, chairman. The Art Committee, a working committee of the Cedar City Coordinating Council, has acquired, through gifts and purchase awards, a very creditable permanent art collection. The collection includes drawings, paintings, original prints, ceramics, sculpture and fibre art by artists form throughout the United States. The art-worrks art-worrks are representative of many of the Art Committee's Com-mittee's past annual exhibits in the schools. The collection has received considerable curatorial treatment in the Braithwaite Gallery during the past several months. According to Prof. Leek, The Collection will be in ah excellent state of preservation preser-vation for the exhibitidn." The Cedar City Art Committee is supported financially by private donations and a grant from the Utah Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, D.C. In conjunction with the Cedar City Collection showing, Terry Lane, a candidate for the BA degree in a art at SUSC, will display his senior portfolio. The joint |
