Show Another Successful Rodeo Another Dixie Round-Up has come and gone and we behove be-hove lhat it is appropriate to take time out to say we think the Lions did a swell job. Each year this event has grown as an entertainment feature and each year more people have attended these events showing that they like this type of entertainment and that they like the show that the Lions are sponsoring. Those of us who have been in contact with the various committee chairmen realize to a degree the great amount: of work that is required to put these shows over. It means that the Lions as a whole must give a considerable consid-erable amount of time and effort; that they must be willing will-ing to step up to the line and put up their money for fines in the Kangaroo Court, buy advertising in the program book and in other ways put out money as well as give of their time. The committee chairmen in particular must be on the job to see that their committee functions to its full ability in order to not hold back the rest of the program. pro-gram. Some of the committee chairmen have been in the limelight due to the fact that their work brought them there. Others have had to work just as hard without getting any glory for it. Then, too, it must be remembered that the chairmen didn't do it all, they had to have some mightly fine workers backing them up. Undoubtedly the Lions will be the first to give credit to the many organizations, groups and individuals who gave them whole hearted support. The business men backed them with a considerable sum of money given and paid in various ways. They backed them with their moral support with the result that we had a community effort, organized and directed by the Lions, that produced this fine show. A |
