Show lion Stake Union Meeting Held At Hurricane Wednesday Eve, Sept. 17 By Mrs. CAMILLA JUDD On Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, Stake President Josephine S. Sandberg Sand-berg welcomed the stake and ward officers and class leaders of the Zion Park stake at Union meeting meet-ing in the stake chapel. Stake Chorister Aretta Church, led in the singing of, "Let Us All Press On", and "A Hundred Thousand Strong", accompanied by Stake Organist Thora Gubler. Special musical numbers were a vocal quartet, "The Bridge Builders", Irene Brooks, Venice Stratton, Norene Lemon and Verlene Sullivan, Sulli-van, accompanied by Irene Hin-ton; Hin-ton; a chorus, "Come Join Our Happy Band", LaVerkin junior girls, accompanied by Thora Gubler. Gub-ler. Booths gaily decorated in the Relief Society colors, blue and gold, depicting the various depart- j ments, were presided over by stake leaders. The literary lesson, "Humor In Life and Literature", was very ably presented by Cassie Riding. Camilla W. The theology lesson was presented pre-sented by Emma Bradshaw assisted as-sisted by Maud M. Judd and Eva C. Webb. 'Work and Business," was cleverly clev-erly demonstrated with three booths. The first displayed needle-craft needle-craft and handwork, both new and made-over and was presided over by Mary Hirschi. Inez Bergener illustrated, "Better Buymanship," in the second booth and Phyllis Heaton demonstrated cake decorating decor-ating in the third. The social science booth was prepared by LaVerna Graff. It depicted ideal home life with its opportunities for spiritual and physical growth. Her discussion embraced, "Foundations for Successful Suc-cessful Marriage". The beautiful "Magazine Drive" booth was in charge of May Le-Baren. Le-Baren. Mary A. Gubler, stake coordinator, displayed her membership mem-bership arch and inspired the ward workers in their drive for new members. Mrs. Minnie Wilson Wil-son presented the "Visiting Teachers' Teach-ers' " topic, "Expressions of Faith" and urged that each member memorize the Articles of Faith. All departments were exceptionally excep-tionally well illustrated and aroused much interest and enthusiasm enthus-iasm in Relief Society work. Dainty refreshments of punch and wafers were served to more than fifty stake and ward workers. |
