Show Four Wards Start M. I. A. Work Tuesday Evening The four wards got off to a good start last Tuesday evening with their M. I. A. work, even though some of the wards are not yet fully organized. Those in charge of the work feel this will be a banner year for the organization, although the Young Men Will miss many active members who are at the training camps and otherwise employed away from home in the Defense program. Reporting their line-up for the winter, the South ward lists the following class leaders: Special interest, H. L. Reid; M Men, Pres. Vernon Worthen; Gleaners, Mrs. Blanche McComb; Junior girls, Jessie Empey and Violet Holt; Guardians, Grace Mathis and Evelyn Eve-lyn Blake; Gatherers, Nina Zahner Zahn-er and Netta Johnson; Builders, Alice Thompson and Mrs. Reid Leigh; drama leader, Mattie W. Ruesch; speech arts, Roxie S. Romney, and music director, William Wil-liam T. Morris Jr. Creston Wood-ard Wood-ard will head the Explorers, and Roy Holt the Scouts. For their assembly program next Tuesday evening the South ward will present the 1941 M. I. A. theme play, a one-act feature entitled, en-titled, "Defense". The four boys appearing in the cast are Alma Woodbury, David Ruesch, Rodney Rod-ney Burgess and Lorraine Woodbury. Wood-bury. This play is supposed to take place at one of Uncle Sam's present-day training camps and is said to be filled with spice, laughs and patriotism. |
