Show MESQUITE Mrs. Daisy L. Reber Reporter Regular class work in the M. I. A. commenced Tuesday night. The opening social was held a week ago. The officers for the coming com-ing year are Marion Hughes, Randall Ran-dall Frehner and Ralston Reber, for the Y. M. M. I. A. and Maurije Abbott, Ann Hughes and Vond Hardy for the Y. L. M. I. A. The teachers from the Elementary Elemen-tary school entertained those from the high school Monday night at an out-door party. Supper was cooked over an open fire and lunch was served to about 20 members and their partners. Quite a few from here attended the Rodeo at St. George last week-end. Mrs. Leah Tobler, Mrs. Alfred Tobler and Don Tobler attended the funeral of Mrs. Barbara Staheli Sta-heli at Enterprise last Monday. Dr. Eckland and Miss Harrington Harring-ton were here Tuesday for a baby clinic and also to vaccinate for whooping cough. Bardell Knight and Don Lee have employment at Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Hughes have gone to Las Vegas, where he has work. Mrs. Austin Hunt of Bunkerville was hostess to the Mesquite Liter- ary club last Thursday. Topics on national current events were given by the members. The hostess served serv-ed refreshments to fifteen members mem-bers and two guests, Mrs. Donald Don-ald Tobler and Mrs. Ross Gardner. |
