Brisbane. The entire package is called "Country Comes Alrve" and has a budget of more than $5 million. The first special will be "The Second Annual Music City News Top Country Hits." to be televised live on March 3 from the Grand Ole Opry House Other productions include "The 16th Annual Music Citv News Country Awards." broadcast live from the Grand Ole pry House on June 7; "Texas and Tennessee A Musical Affair"; "Conway Twitty Delta King"; and "A Tribute To." Waylon Jannlngt' "Greatest "Great-est Hits" album has been on the best -selling LP charts since its release in March 1979. and late last year it passed the 3 million mark in sales. Two of the LP's tracks. "Amanda" and "I've Always Been Crazy," charted as No. 1 singles during consecutive weeks. Two other No. 1 hits. "Good Hearted Woman" and "Luckenbach. Texas" are also on the LP. Wayton's "I've Always Been Crazy" album was the first Nashville-oriented LP to debut at No. 1 on the country charts and ship gold. In addition to his triple-platinum "Greatest Hits" LP. Waylon now has one double platinum, tour platinum and eight gold LPs. Not bad for a country boy who still needs a haircut. His newest album project. "Black on Black." is his lirst solo effort in almost two years and marks a return to what could be called "true country music" with the special Jennings Jenn-ings sound.
