JERRY STICKNEY, cook at the single living quarters, and Ralph Loge, chef, prepare prime rib served at last Friday's dinner put on by Ueseret Generation and Transmission for about bu people. DG&T dinner held Jensen residents and Vernal officials were invited to a dinner Friday, Feb. 19 at the Deseret Generation and Transmission Tran-smission single living quarters in Jensen. Saturday an open house was held to show people the living facilities for DG&T employees. Ken Fisher, impact manager for DG&T, explained to the 58 people present that the prime rib dinner was a sample of what the workers are fed at the facility. Many of the men living at the quarters are from the Wasatch front, and are living in the area without their families during the week, going home on weekends. DG&T officials explained that Jensen was chosen as the site for the living quarters because the Jensen area will be serviced with power from the Bonanza Power Plant. "The men are skilled workers and are producing," Fisher said. The first unit at the plant is expected to be fired in September 1984. Universal Services Inc.-lnternational was hired by DG&T to manage the facilities that house 96 people. Tom Olsen, manager of the single living quarters, said that besides prime rib, guests were served green beans, oven browned potatoes, shrimp salad, hot spiced beets and cherry and chocolate cream pies. |
