Show AAUW The Uintah Basin Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) held their monthly meeting Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Vernal Ver-nal Jr. High School library. Marie Kaczmarek presented a program pro-gram explaining the benefits and penalties involved with investing money in the following areas: checking and savings accounts, bonds, money-funds, money-funds, treasury bills, and certificates of deposit. During the business meeting, a new set ol Branch by-laws was approved. It w as announced thai Karen Ramborger. an original member and first treasurer of the Branch, died Jan. 27. 1982 in Seat-lie. Seat-lie. Wash, after undergoing open heart surgery. Karen was only 26 years old and is survived by a 3-month-old daughter and her husband. A memorial fund has been set up in Karen's name and anyone wishing lo contribute to it should contact Mane Nelson a! 789-5480. The next meeting of AAUW will be held March 16 at 7:30 p.m. m the Vernal Jr. High School library. |
