Union drops encounter The Union Cougars dropped into fifth place in Region 9 with losses to Wasatch Friday and Lehi Saturday. Lehi is in first place in Region 9 at 8-0 and Wasatch is in second place at 4-4. Grantsville and Morgan are tied for third place at 3-5. Union has a 2-6 mark. Wasatch thumped Union in Roosevelt Friday 72-52. The Wasps had a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and had a 30-22 advantage after two quarters. The Wasps had a 46-33 lead after three quarters and won the game by the score of 72-52. uory Dye was the top scorer for Union at 17 points and Rick Nelson put in 12 counters. Townsend put in four field goals and hit 15 out of 18 free throws. Dye and Sammaripa scored 13 points. Nielson put in eight counters. Snow scored five points.
