While in California, they stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Riley Robinson and children of Placentia, California and saw Disneyland, Marine Land and Universal Studios. Thursday morning Ferl Briggs and Velma Lamb took Elden Lamb to Salt Lake City for medical treatment. Elden is still in Salt Lake City having tests at the LDS Hospital. His wife stayed in Salt Lake City, but Mrs. Briggs returned home. Norman(Sonny) Larsen is a patient at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. Sonny is a former resident of Daggett County. Bob Stockton is a patient at the Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs, Wyoming where he was taken following a heart attack. Dr. Jim VanSlooten of Salt Lake City, was seeing patients at the Daggett Senior Citizen Center Friday of last week and Saturday until 2 p.m. Manila 4-H leaders are invited to attend a Sweetwater County 4-H leaders dinner on January 12 at 7 p.m. in Rock Springs. The dinner is sponsored spon-sored by John Hay, Rock Springs banker. The first senior citizen dinner for January will be held January 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Manila. Mrs. Evelyn Jackson and daughter, Wende, of Mesa, Arizona are visiting at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jackson. January started off with a little snow. On the first day one inch fell with .04 of an inch of moisture. The second day there was 2.5 inches of snow with .03 inches of moisture. Skies have been clear part of the time. The highest temperature during the past week was 49 degrees above zero. Most of the snow melted that day. |
