Show Get an W in 1980 By Ermu Jean Lee Have you ever thought about life in terms of grades? If you were graded in your everyday activites, what grade would you get? What grade would you get in marriage? in parenthood? in work? in community contributions? in face-to-face behavior with others? Would the grade you got matter to you? Would it affect your "personal philosophy?" your "true belief?" or your "everyday realism?" Varying grades of philosophy, true beliefs, or realism have always existed in mortals, and always will. Evidence of each of these is in the genes, chromosomes and the intangible -mindspirit substance of which mortals are composed. The only difference between bet-ween the "ordinary" man or woman and the "genius" may be how they view the intangible elements of their being. Today philosophy is usually considered con-sidered "abstract." True belief is called call-ed "fanatical". Realists may be violently opposed to anything they cannot can-not see, hear, touch, feel or taste. You can see that each "entity of belief origin" can be "far out!" A "Quark" is not visible, but it's real to nuclear physicists who have gone behind the bulk of matter. The heart is not visible, but its rumbling beat can be heard by listening especially when it is out of synch. Scientific facts, research, resear-ch, inventions and careful thoughts make REAL the "intangible being of mortals." Today things don't have to be seen to be "in." Behind matter, behind mortality, then, is ephemeral reality, true being, and the philosophy of life. Now if we can go behind the "bulk" of learning and living, we will also find grades and intangibles of practice in all the things that matter to mortalkind. Teachers say that many of their students are intelligent, brilliant or smart, but they get low grades because they don't hand in their daily assignments. If school is a child's work, how will he or she work in life? Will they hand in their daily eight hours of work? Will they accept responsibility for a child conceived? for a family? for skilled, trained parenthood? What about their values of reality? Will they see the needs of their community? their group? church? friends? governemnt? Will those who think learning is hard find life less hard? Sometimes genes cause bad behavior and low grades. Sometimes genes enhance them. If you get "A" in human biology and fail history, perhaps your genes have taken over. Getting "A s" in theory a large part of book learningis learn-ingis not as important as getting "A s" in reality, in everyday practice of principles taught by society, education, educa-tion, religion, labor skills, technology, and the community. Some "F" students may get "A s" in loving, living, working, work-ing, and family life, while their more intelligent in-telligent companions may fail in love or human relationships. In school, learning learn-ing is a goal of achieving basic knowledge; in life, learning is an ever-present ever-present process of working, acting, improving im-proving over errors, changing and maturing in visible and invisible ways. In school you were graded by teachers. In life you are graded by a subconscious computer. This computer is programmed to see what you see, to know what you know, to think like you think, to hear, taste, smell, sense, learn, and say momently, hourly, daily, yearly, what you have taught it to say. What this "computer" shares with you in thoughts, words, dreams, visions, concepts, or adversely, inner hurts, disease, dis-ease, problems, irritation, and other inner in-ner unrest is what measures the "quality " of your life, the "total grade" you get periodically. If you measure up, life, love, and people's reactions flow and you feel happy. If you measure down, the "devils" of depression, fear, worry, unhappiness, and discouraging pressures set in, lessening your grade, and subtracting from your life "quality." Even a realist can see now how the "intangibles" of life, even mortal life, can influence hisher feelings and outlook at any given moment. One's opinions and discussions seem to be their philosophy, and their practice of learning, doctorine or behavior soem evidence of their true beliefs. The reality reali-ty of all of us is dictated by the "intangible "intangi-ble compulations" of an invisible computer com-puter within us. It's not the "A's". others get that should matter but the "A's" we achieve to make our "'computer" "'com-puter" happy. When our "computer" is satisfied that we are each doing our best, then it will print out "joy in life" and understanding to others. Think about your life, nnd think about the things your "computer" is "printing "prin-ting out." Do you like them? If not, learn how to change them. Improve the grade of your life, of your human relationships. rela-tionships. Change you. IIAITY Willi's, everyone. If anyone lias Ideas or views that could be used in a human relationship's column I would appreciate getting your comments. Please send remarks to F.r-ma F.r-ma Jean Leo, co Vernal Express, P.O.
