Show SCS survey shows snow pack condition Snow surveys for January 1, 1980 show snow pack to be only about 50 of average on Whiterocks drainage, near average on Ashly Creek and' Brush Creek drainage. The north slope has above average snow pack at snow courses checked, according to the U.S. Soil Conservation Service, Vernal office. of-fice. At the beginning of the water year, Oct. 1, the soil moisture was very low on our watershed. There is a need for above average water supply this,winter to replenish the soil moisture and provide pro-vide adequate irrigation water. On the Whiterocks River and Dry Fork drainage at Mosby Mountain there are 13 inches of snow with 1.8 inches in-ches of water; this is 43 of average. The rain guage has caught 4.15 inches of water since Oct. 1; this is 80 of average. At Paradise Park there are 18 inches of snow with 3.6 inches of water; this is 67 of average. The rain guage catch from Oct. 1 is 48 of average. At Trout Creek on Ashley Creek there are 25 inches of snow with 4.6 inches of water this is 118 of average. At Kings Cabin Upper there are 25 inches in-ches of snow with 5.2 inches of water; this is 137 of average. The rain guage catch from Oct. 1 is 86 of average. On the north slope of the Uintas at Spirit Lake there are 31 inches of snow with 6.0 inches of water; this is 122 of average. The rain guage catch from Oct. 1 is 144 of average. At Burnt Creek there are 17 inches of snow with 4.1 inches of water; this is 240 of average. There has been 136 average rain guage catch since Oct. 1. |
