Show Preregistration begins at Country Meadows Preregistration is now being taken for second semester which will begin February 2 at Country Meadows Early Education Center. Country Meadows, located at 1217 North 3000 West, is a private school for children between the ages of two and five years. Children may attend two, three, four, or five days per week on either a semester or . monthly basis. Two sessions per day are scheduled for ' the spring semester. Morning session, '" which runs from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. is heterogenously grouped with emphasis being placed on the needs of the two to four year old child. Teacher for that group is Marsha Oleen. Teachers Aides are Margaret Thomas and Terry Johnson. Student teachers are Lynette Shipman, a student from Uintah High School and Peggy Hunting, a student teacher from Utah State University. Afternoon session runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. It is geared specifically for the children who will be entering kindergarten kin-dergarten next fall. Teacher for the afternoon session is Martha Ann Cooper. Teacher Aide is Tereshe King. Trixie Adams is a student aide from Uintah High School. Mrs. Hunting will also do part of her student teaching experience in the afternoon session. Ora Fay Oviatt is the director of the school. She teaches three days per week in both morning and afternoon sessions. Special vocabulary and skills tests are given to each child attending Country Meadows during second semester who meet the 1980 age deadline for kindergarten entrance. The curriculum at Country Meadows is based entirely on first-hand experiences ex-periences for children to promote language stimulation and physical, intellectual and creative development in a rural farm atmosphere. Preregistration for second semester may be made by calling the center, 789-0123, 789-0123, Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. During the month of January, interested parents may call the center and arrange for a special tour of the school which will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 -10: 30 a.m. and 1:30 -2 :30p.m. Parent orientation and formal registration will beconducted February 1 at 10 a.m. at Country Meadows. Openings will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. |
