Vernal's Giants captured first place in the Mustang League with a 10-1 record. Following the Giants were: Pirates, second, 9-2; Cubs, third, 8-3; Warriors, Cardinals, fourth, 7-4; White Sox, sixth, 6-5; Braves, seventh, 5-6; Yankees, Mets, eighth, 4-7; Angels, tenth, 3-8; Dodgers 11th, 2-9 and Orioles, 12th, 1-10. First place in the Bronco League was captured by the Dodgers with a perfect record of 12-0. Following the Dodgers were: Braves, Red Spx, second, 9-3; Cubs, Cardinals, fourth, 7-5; A's, sixth, 6-6; Yankees, seventh, 5-7; Pirates, eighth, 3-9 and Mets, ninth, 2-10. The results of Mustang League games played last week are : Pirates, 22 and Cardinals, 8; Warriors, 19 and Orioles, 1, June 26; Angels, 19 and Dodgers, 6; Pirates, 10 and Braves, 5, June 27 and White Sox, 23 and Yankees, 19; Giants, 21 and Orioles, 5, June 28. A round robin Mustang League tourney is set for Thursday and Friday in Vernal. Vernal's Dodgers won two games, a 9-0 forfeit over the Giants and a 14 to 1 triumph over the Red Sox, Friday, to' finish undefeated in the Bronco League " at 12-0. " The results of other games are: Braves, 15 and Yankees, 8, June 26; Red Sox, 26 and Pirates, 4; Cardinals, 8 and A's, 1, June 27; Cubs, 9 and Giants, 0, and Yankees, 14 and Mets, 2, June 28, and Braves, 16 and Pirates, 7, June 29. The Braves had a 2-3 record on June 5, but they turned on their baseball hitting machine and they won seven games in a row to finish in a tie for second place at 9-3. Devin Bailey slugged two curcuit clouts for the Braves in games against the Yankees, June 26 and Pirates, June 29. Robert Merrill, Yankees, popped a homer on June 28. The Mustangs are in first place in the Pony League with a record of 7-3, as of June 28. The Dodgers and Mets are tied for second at 5-5 and the Braves are in fourth place at 3-7. There is one week left in Pony League action. Clark Emery smashed two four-baggers four-baggers for the Braves in a battle with Mustangs on June 26 and David Rasmussen, Dodgers, slugged a homer on June 27 in a game with the Braves. Pat Jenkins, Mustangs, smashed a round-tripper on June 28 in a contest with the Mets. The Mustangs defeated the Braves, 16 to 8, June 26 and nipped the Mets, 6 to 4, Thursday'. The Dodgers were defeated by Mustangs, 8 to 3, Friday, in " "'a protested game: The game was - played on May 31, but was protested.. The game was started in the top of the fifth, Friday. The Braves toppled the Dodgers, 8 to 6, June 27. The Mets will battle the Braves, Thursday and the Mustangs will encounter the Braves, Friday at 7 p.m. THE DODGERS posted a first place record of 12-0 in the Bronco League.
