Show June 26, Phyllis Warby had a lucky day at the bingo table winning to be winner of the week with seven games. Vernal Gehring came in second with four games. Third place ended up in a tie, between Alice Mott and Edith Jensen, both winning three games each. Winner for the month of June was Lena Mast with 18 games, her sister Alice Mott close behind with 16 games. Bingo is played every Tuesday at 1:30 here at the Golden Age Center. If you would like to play but don't have a ride down here, don't let that stop you, call 789-2169 and we will make arrangements for one of our transportation tran-sportation personnel to come and get you. For all those interested in Historical points of the Uintah Basin, there will be a Historical Society meeting July 10. The topic for discussion will be the Echo Park area and Pat Lynch. This will be held at the Golden Age Center at 7:30. July 16 the Senior Law Project will be in Vernal at the Golden Age Center. This project is to help Senior Citizens with free legal counseling they might need. Individual counseling will also be available after dinner on this same day. Monday's dinner, July 2, had 110 enjoying the Swiss Steak, along with .potatoes and gravy, brocolli, salads, japple crisp topped with ice cream. Judy Brighton entertained the group with her lovely voice, she was accompanied ac-companied by Melba Sergeant on the piano. The menu for next Monday's dinner is Salmon Loaf, scalloped potatoes, peas and carrots, green salad, coleslaw, pie and ice cream. Be sure to be at the Golden Age Center July 9 for this delicious dinner. The popular Newel's Harmony Four dance band is really . becoming well known throughout the state as well as surrounding states, as you will see by the visitors each week that are attending at-tending the Friday night dances at the Golden Age Center. Visitors for the past two weeks were: Nadine Isley, Grand Junction, Colorado; Nadine Buhr and LaVelle Briggs, Durango, Colorado; Margaret Jarvis, Cortez, Colorado; Quida M. North, Dolores, Colorado; Utah visitors were: LuAnn Hadley, Sandy; Virginia Christensen, Granger; Mardith Harvey, Blanding; Juan Hansen, Monticello; Bonnie Kilgrow, Murray; Jean Manley, Logan; Vonell Draper, Blanding; Ellen Stephenson, Salt Lake; Doyle Lloyd of Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Howard McKowen of Vernal; Also many visitors from the Friendship Club from Salt Lake which include: Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hislop; Maria Espinosa; Maylo Ford; Ken Hadlock, a former Vernal resident and now of Texas. Iola Dudley and Lee Lisonbee were married in Bluebell, June 30. Word was received that Merl Horrocks was on the sick list. We miss them at the dance, and hope she will recover soon. Evelyn Slaugh had surgery in the St. Mark's Hospital, she is doing fine according to her husband Shirley.
