Show STANFORD HEAD SETS U. TALK Dr. Kay Lyman Wilbur, president presi-dent of Stanford university, la expected ex-pected to come to Salt Lake City April 13 to address Stanford alumni alum-ni living la Utah at a dinner to be held la the Alta club. The dinner Is la honor of the late Henry Newell. Salt Lake City mining man, who established the Henry Newell scholarships at Stanford Stan-ford for Utah student. -The dinner will be presided over by William W. Ray, attorney, who drew Mr. Newell' will and later defended It in court Arrangements Arrange-ments are being made by Sam D. Thurman Jr, who said Invitations have been extended to 387 Stanford Stan-ford alumni living In Utah, Including Includ-ing 30 former holders of the Newell New-ell scholarships, and to a number of city and stats official and prominent educators, Including Governor and Mrs. Henry H. Blood. Mayor and Mrs. Ab Jenkins and Dr. George Thomas, University of Utah president and Mrs. Thomas. At the present time there are 27 Newell scholars, most of them from Utah cities and towns, holding hold-ing scholarships valued at 1360 each, Mr. Thurman said. |
