Show ' Org. Qrade School A' News h Hike Enjoyecl, New Equipment Added Tuesday the Brookside Sixth grade went on their hike. At first we had very nice weather until about 5:15. It was starting to snow so a small group of about fifteen started down. The rest came down after it quit. They said there was about three inches of snow. While we were up there we ate and then went for a hike. Some of us stayed down to raid other camps of wood as it was hard to find dead branches and trees. About 5:00 we started to play Relievio. For our visiting week we plan to have an assembly for our parents par-ents on Friday at 2:00. Yesterday we got our giant stride, slide and teeter-totters, we hope to have them put in next week. This week we also had a change of teachers, Mrs. Hall left the Second grade and Mrs. Robertson took over. That's all 'til next week. SALLY WILSON Brookside 6th grade Grant Fifth, Sixth Enjoy Dance, Party Today the PTA sponsored a dance for the Fifth and Sixth grades. The dance cost 15 cents. The money received went to help pay for our sound projector which we have been using to show all the films that I have written about the last few weeks. We also had popcorn balls given to us by the room mothers. We had very much fun and I hope we have many more dances. We want to thank the room mothers for the treat. That was a nice way to celebrate cele-brate St. Patrick's Day. We have also had spelling and arithmetic tests in which we hope to pass. We have played 3 ball games. The scores were 30 to 20 in favor of Brookside and 40 to 36 in favor of Jefferson 31 to 31 we called this game off to go to the dance. Hope to play them again soon. RALPH ROSTRON Grant 5th grade Pupils Entertained At Dance, Social i The Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grades of the Jefferson school, had a dance Friday night. A lot of the children couldn't come because be-cause the weather was so bad. The wind was blowing and it was raining, rain-ing, but before we went home, it was snowing quite bad. The PTA had ice cream to sell to us. The ice cream cost a nickel. The dance lasted until about eight o'clock. The money from the dance will be used to help pay for the projector. We are enjoying our projector and learning so much more in Science and Geography because of it. BARBARA JOHNSON Reporter Ball Game Set By Jefferson 6th The Jefferson school Sixth grade boys are having a baseball game this afternoon with the Fifth grade boys. The game will be hardball. Mr. Nielson has given our room a new baseball and bat. The boys and girls had an arguement over who was to take the bat and who was to take the ball. The boys got the bat and the girls got the ball.
