Show : Officers Apprehend Youth Imp icated In Mapleton Theft The burglary in Mapleton last Wednesday in which $725 worth of currency and jewelry disappeared, disappear-ed, was solved Saturday night by Deputy Reuben Christiansen of the Utah county sherriff's office and police officers from Spanish Fork and Springville. The officers picked up a 15-year-old Mapleton youth who admitted entering the home of Mrs. Etta Thorpe and taking $25 in cash plus two watches, wat-ches, one valued at $500. The juvenile was picked up after af-ter a tip from a hotel proprietor in Spanish Fork, who became suspicious sus-picious of a group of teen-agers lounging in the lobby. Investigation Investigat-ion disclosed that the youth was alone in the burglary and also in the theft of an automobile last Thursday. He told officers that he spent the $25 to buy a used car from a local dealer. Juvenile court attaches, who now have the youth in custody, said that arrangements were being be-ing made today to get the stolen money back. The same youth has been arraigned ar-raigned in juvenile court on two other occasions on stolen car counts, court attaches said. |
