Show Mapleton Reception Honors Couple Married Recently In Mesa, Ariz. Nearly 500 relatives and friends from Mapleton, Springville and other nearby towns attended the wedding wed-ding reception last Thursdav evening- for E. M of Mapleton and . Mrs. Helen C. Marchant formerly of Lovell, Wyo. and Provo. The couple were married mar-ried in the Mesa, Arizona temple, on February 23, the birthday of the groom. The reception was held in the Mapleton amusement hall. After the marriage, the couple spent two weeks in Arizona and at Burbank, Calif., where Mrs. Snow resided the past two years. Enroute home from California, the newlyweds were involved in an automobile accident in which Mrs. Snow suffered a fractured rib, punctured lung and other injuries, postponing the reception until the past week. Assisting Mr. and Mrs. Snow in the reception line were sisters of the bride and groom, Mrs. Charles L. Whiting, Mrs. Peter Jensen and Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Mapleton. Joseph Wiscombe did best man duties. Mrs. Snow was attired in a pretty pink satin formal for the reception re-ception with a corsage of gardenias garden-ias and white carnations. A delightful program entertained enter-tained the guests with Welby Warren acting as master of cere-mones. cere-mones. Tributes were made during dur-ing the evening by Mayor Elmer Bird, Bishop Oscar Whiting and John Holley. Other program numbers included includ-ed two accordion selections by Rex Blanchard; vocal solos, Elmo Jensen Jen-sen and Miss Janice Marchant; vocal duets, Freeman Bird and Glenn Holley, Lenore Bills and Mabel Hansen; piano solo, Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Wiscombe; readings, Mrs. Iris Dibble, Helen Wiscombe and Lily Binks. Refreshments were served under the direction of Mrs. Lenore Bills, Mrs. Mabel Hansen, Mrs. Ruby Jensen and Mrs. Ella Johnson. Gifts were arranged by Mrs. Olive Whiting, Mrs. Helen Wiscombe, Wis-combe, Mrs. Wilma Cloward and Mrs. June Blanchard The entertainment was concluded conclud-ed with dancing The newlyweds are making their home at the Snow residence at Mapleton and through the Herald express their thanks and appreciation apprecia-tion to the many friends who attended at-tended or participated in the reception re-ception in their honor. On the Monday before their reception, re-ception, Mr. and Mrs. Snow were host and hostess to approximately 200 Mapleton boys and girls at a party at the amusement hall after Primary, where all enjoyed games, dancing and refreshments. |
