Show Cash Prizes Go To Youth Talent Contest Winners Here Through the efforts of the 20-30 club and the many townspeople who contributed through attending attend-ing the first annual Youth Talent Contest Friday, many rheumatic fever patients as wall as contest winners, benefitted. benefit-ted. Contest winners who were the visable benefactors so far as the audience was concerned, included Elaine Jesse and Dorothy Clark playing a violin duet, accompanied by Alice Erickson, as first place winners. Second place went to Ann Merie Fry, who rendered a vocal solo. Ann Johnson received third place rating with her violin solo. Special mention also went to the Treble Tones, high school girls triple trio; Zina and DeAnn Bram-mall Bram-mall for their vocal duet with accompaniment ac-companiment by tiny 5-year-old Zina; Beulah Webb and company, string quartet. With more than 20 entries, Judges Jud-ges Newell Weight of the BYTJ and Dr. William H. Sorenson of Spanish Fork, had a difficult task in selecting the winners. Cash prizes pri-zes were presented the top three numbers by President Blaine Thorn. These winners will be featured fea-tured on radio broadcasts later on. As an added feature to the contest, con-test, which was broadcast over radio station KNEU, specialty numbers were given by radio artists. ar-tists. Lawrence Lynn, chairman of the project, expressed the gratitude of the 20-30 members for the fine response of both townfolks and contestants. |
