Mayor Edward Clyde has proclaimed pro-claimed the day to be set aside by i everyone in an effort to thoroughly I clean the streets and yards throughout the city. As has been the custom in previous pre-vious years, the boys and girls of ' the upper grades and high school . under the direction of their tea-; tea-; chers, will rake and clean the streets. With each group also will be at least two representatives from each civic club. The city will furnish trucks to haul the garbage away and all places of business are expected to close during the forenoon so that everyone may cooperate in the general clean-up. Harold Whiting of the city council, coun-cil, under whoe direction the clean-up plans are being made, said that the students would assemble as-semble on designated streets at 8 a.m., and rake and clean both sides of the road and city trucks will follow up to haul the debris away. Should stormy weather make it impossible to carry out present plans, the clean-up will be set at a latter date. |
