Show NAME DESTROYER FOR DEAD OFFICER PHTLADELPHTA. Dec. 18. Two vessels, ves-sels, the destroyer Leary and the Tanka, a wood cargo carrier, were launched at Delaware river shipyards today. The new destroyer was named after the late Lieu tenant Clarence F. Leary, who was killed when the transport Charlton Hall was torpedoed In the English En-glish channel, and was christened by his mother, Mrs. Mary A. Leary, of Brooklyn. Brook-lyn. The Leary was launched at the New York Shi7huilding company's yard In Camden, N. J., while the Tanka slid from tho ways of the Trayler shipyard at Cornweils, Pa. |
