And the man or woman who does not wear a button will be shown no mercy by the enthusiastic women in charge. Every Red Cross worker feels that the brilliant record Utah has thus far made in the various drives must be kept at top notch and they will redouble their efforts to obtain enrollments in tho Red Cross. Te competition among the organizations organiza-tions ended last night, although there will continue to be some sea ttererl canvassing, can-vassing, as several of the districts have not yet been thoroughly covered. By the reports turned in at the luncheon of the women workers held yesterday. in the Y. W. C. A., indications are that the Home and School league will be the proud possessor pos-sessor of the Red Cross honor flag, although al-though final reports have not yet been made. The Home and School league reported re-ported subscriptions amounting to $1459; the City B'ederation of Women's clubs came next with $1433; the Red Cross gauze organization, $1131.50; Daughters of the American Revolution, $1346; War Mothers, $704, and Ladies' Literary club. 5619.50, making a total of $6783.50. This amount is deemed very encouraging, although al-though it is hoped that the final figures will swell it considerably. Every person, young or old. who has the fortitude lo venture on the streets tomorrow without a Red Cross button will have to do a great deal of explaining to fair Red Cross workers, for tomorrow ! they intend to "nab 'em all" everyone j who does not display the isignia of the Special committees, in charge of Mrs. Louis Simon, will visit the railroads and laundries in an endeavor to solicit enrollments enroll-ments among the employees, and the 'wholesale district will bo in charge of Mrs. Ernest A. Smith. One of the features especially worthy of mention in the Red Cross Christmas roll call is the excellent work being done In t,he Creek district. Tiie Greek settlement settle-ment committee, under the direction of Mrs. E. G. Ski iris, has penetrated every home and store anions ihe foreign quarter, quar-ter, and they report an amazing response to the appeal of the lied Cross.
