Show Butter at Seven Cents Leads to Youth's Arrest Lad, 16, Finds Ready Market Mar-ket for Produce Stolen From His Father. A, EXPERIMENT to re.uce the present high cost of living by retailing re-tailing butter at less than 7 cents a pound resulted in the arrest ar-rest late last night of Fay Fredericksen, 16 years old, on a complaint of theft made by the youthful economist's father, fath-er, N. A. Fredericksen, a produce vendor who resides at 723 East Fourth South street. Young Fredericksen, who was taken into custody by Officer D. H. Clayton, was later released on his own recognizance, with instructions to appear ap-pear in the juvenile court this morning at 10 o'clock. A few days ago Fredericksen senior missed a box containing sixty pounds j of butter. A diligent search for the 1 stolen goods was crowned with success J yesterday when the butter was found in the possession of a local restaurant man who, it is alleged, had purchased it from the youth for $4. Fredericksen promptly prompt-ly reported his offspring's delinquency to the police. Charges of receiving stolen goods probably willbe filed against the restaurant man. |
