Gitscb. superintendent ot the Demijohn Consolidated Mining company com-pany at Pioche, New, is in the city for a few days. He brought with him samples sam-ples of the ore which ho has recently opeued up upon the oUO-fuot level in the company 's property. A well-defined bedding plane baa been opened at this level aud immediately next to tho hanging wall of the fissure. Just before Mr. Gitseh left for Salt Lake he had started the men to work drirtinjz alon the wall of the tissure and bedded vein leading from it. Samples of the- ore brought in by Mr. Gitsch were assayed and the returns show 60.5 per cent lead, 78. SO ounces' silver and $1.60 gold per ton. The strike is too recent for Mr. Gitsch at this time to determine definitely the extent ex-tent of the ore, but he ro ports that the geological conditions are ideal for the finding of a large and rich body of ore. Mr. Gitsch will return to the property prop-erty Sunday, and the active campaign of development work which has been prosecuted under his direction for upwards up-wards of a 3'ear will bo energetically continued. |
