Show BRITAIN ASKS FOR BIG MEAT SUPPLY Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, March 23. Tn a cable message that represented 525 in prepaid tolls the Ogden Packing and Provision company received a request today to sell to the British government all of its available output of cured meats until April 30. The company has been a heavy shipper of meats to the British market and the unusual un-usual request from the government is taken to indicate a meat shortage in England. Eng-land. The message guarantees a reduction in ocean freight from $4.50 to $1.50 per hundred hun-dred pounds and a reduction in Insurance rates under British supervision from 8 per cent to 2 per cent. The company has four carloads of meat on the road to New York for export shipment to British markets mar-kets and four carloads loaded at the plant. |
