Show COLLEGE TO PUSH 115 FUND CIPII Friends of Westminster Agree to Continue Quest for Needed Money. Although today, March 24, was the day scheduled for the windup of the $100,000 Westminster fund campaign, it was definitely decided at a meeting of the board of trustees of the college yesterday at the Hotel Utah that the campaign .should be continued and subscriptions sub-scriptions solicited and received. The board coucluded, however, that, in fairness to the workers who have been in the field for the past several weeks, a new organization" would be effected. It will consist of a smaller number of workers and meetings will be held once a week. Legal papers announcing the gift of $30,000, presented to Westminster college col-lege as an endowment fund by the Women 's Home "Mission of New York City, were signed by the board of trustees trus-tees at yesterday's meeting. Only the income on the $30,000 will be used. Plans for' the boys' dormitory were presented to the board by Architect N. Edward Liljenberg and commended by the board members. Bids for its construction con-struction will be opened in about two weeks. The most critical need of the college, according to Dr. W. H. Reherd, is the boys' dormitory and it will be the first matter to receive attention. Dr. Reherd announced that $1.9.000 had been received up to date. Many large subscriptions which have been promised, however, have not yet been received and it is expected to collect these within the next few days. It is planned also to send out into different parts of the state personal representatives represent-atives to advertise the plans and purposes pur-poses of the college. It is anticipated that in this way the fund will be considerably con-siderably swelled. Hitherto the means of reaching those persons interested outside Salt Lake has been by letter. A vote was taken at the luncheon at the Hotel Utah yesterday to hold the luncheon today at 1:15 p. m. E. B. Critchlow will have charge and prominent promi-nent members of the campaign committee commit-tee will speak. |
