S. university debating team yesterday took the championship of the section including includ-ing East high, L. D. S. university and Granite. This was the second round, the first taking place Monday and ending in a tie, as all of the affirmatives were on the winning end. The L. D. S. negatives broke the consistent con-sistent work of the affirmatives by winning from Granite. At the East high the Granite negatives lost, while the L. D. S. team at Barratt hall won from the East high negatives. The question discussed was " Resolved, that the several states should adopt a minimum wage scale for unskilled laborers, la-borers, constitutionality waived." At Granite the L. D. IS. negatives, composed of Miss Hannah Hollingsworth and Ehvin Eldredge, engaged in a hard struggle with the Granite team, wjiich consisted of Miss Bessie Jones and Miss Rota Wilson. Both sides brought out a number of excellent points in a very clear manner, and the judges had a hard time making the decision. The vote was '2 to 1. 'Wilson McCarty, Judge J. L. Brown and Peter Kasius were the officials. The affirmative team of the East high had no difficulty in winning from the Granite representatives. The presentation pres-entation of both sides was excellent, but the facts brought forth by the winners win-ners were too much for the Granite team to overcome.
