Show SHEAR RESISTING RETURN TO UTAH Special to The Tribune. : OGDEN, March 23. Through a representative repre-sentative of the man's family, who was in this city today. Sheriff H. C. Peterson and Countv Attorney Charles L. Farr, were informed of efforts to bring about the release of Max Shear, under arrest at Ixia Anereles and wanted here on a charge of forgery. Shear is fighting extradition ex-tradition and an appeal has been made for a special hearing before the California governor. Deputy Sheriff "W. H. lewder, supplied with requisition papers from Governor Simon Si-mon Bamberger, left yesterday for Los Angeles to bring Shear back to this city. The local authorities assert that the case has proceeded too far for them to accept anything in the line of a settlement. Shear is charged with forging the name of a Salt Luke business man to a check for $32.50 and cashing the paper at the Reed hotel in this city: |
